Raise the minimum wage

In Government, the Liberal Democrats have already won a £700 tax cut for local workers from April. And we're campaigning to increase that to an £800 tax cut in a year's time. We've also frozen the council tax on the district council for four years running, and stopped petrol and diesel prices rising any more.

But we must do more to help people who are struggling to make ends meet.

That is why I want the minimum wage to go up. The decision on the level of the minimum wage is made by the independent Low Pay Commission. I have proposed that the Commission increases minimum wage by more than inflation to help those on low incomes in our area. Please sign my petition today!

I/we call on the independent Low Pay Commission to raise the national minimum wage above inflation as soon as possible.
