A major service review by the trust which runs the hospital is set to kick-off in the coming weeks, and is raising the prospect that some acute services could return to Kendal.
Local MP Tim Farron says, "Ever since acute services were moved to Lancaster and Barrow, local residents have contacted me with concerns and horror stories. Although the new management team have improved things, long waits at Lancaster are still a fact of life.
"The forthcoming review will allow us to have our say on all the services the hospital trust provide, and I'm sure local residents will join me in calling for acute services to be returned to Kendal.
"I'd be really grateful if you could sign the petition below, and look out for details of the review in the coming weeks."
I/we, the undersigned, support returning acute services including A&E and coronary care to the Westmorland General Hospital. We call on the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust to use their forthcoming service review to return and improve services at Kendal.
