Like many local authorities in tourist areas, The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead seeks to maximise revenues through high parking charges directed a tourists.
With the council using parking charges as a "tourist tax", and no credible public transport alternatives, it's essential the council protects the town's retail businesses' local trade by differentiating between residents and visitors through reintroduction of a residents' discount.
Failure to differentiate between residents and visitors will destroy the town's local retail businesses.
