We're calling on Wiltshire Council to extend free school meals, not just for the Autumn half term, but also Christmas so that no child living in poverty misses out - even during holidays and lockdown.
Every child should be able to have at least one balanced meal a day and no child should have to go to bed hungry.
If the Government won't ensure that our children won't go hungry over school holidays, then we need our local council to do the right thing and step in to extend the school meal scheme.
Schools across Wiltshire have already seen considerable cuts, such as Ivy Lane Primary School which has seen a loss of £353 per pupil. Many local schools just can't afford to cover this without extra support.
Local children are going hungry. We can't let them down.
