Crossing the main road in Stanley Common is not easy.
The nearest pedestrian crossings are at the Rose and Crown in one direction (about a mile away) and at Straw's Bridge (almost 2½ miles away). Yet the road splits the village in half, with the shops, pub, club, and some housing on one side, and the school, playing fields and most of the housing on the other.
At busy times of the day, it can take 5 minutes before there is a gap in the traffic.
Requests to Derbyshire County Council have, so far, been refused.
We, residents and visitors to Stanley Common, demand that a pedestrian crossing be installed at a suitable location along Belper Road.
Whether you've already signed up to the campaign or aren't ready just yet, you can still help encourage other people to sign up.
