No microplastics in my fish please!

Shrimp fishing on boatTiny plastic pieces are a major risk to human health. They carry harmful pathogens into the bodies of fish which are later eaten as seafood.

Microplastics are tiny pieces of plastic found in popular, everyday items like exfoliating facial scrubs and synthetic fibres from clothes.

Just one tube of a popular facial scrub can contain hundreds of thousands of microplastics.

The USA has already banned products containing microplastics and Unilever started phasing out plastic scrub beads from personal care products in early 2015.

But the EU's response so far has been very slow.

If you want to put pressure on the EU to clean up our oceans by banning microplastics in Europe please sign.
